@Anagram: the frosted top might work. The tv is On the wall that would be left of the picture. You can just see the arm of our couch and the tv is in front of that

@gotkimchi: Where's your tv in that room? Do the windows cause glare on the TV? Depending on that, and what the overall decor style of your room is, you have a lot of options. You can do the same roller blinds, you could do plantation shutters on both top and bottom, you could do cellular blinds on both, you could leave the top totally open as PPs have mentioned, you could put the film on the transom windows to make it look frosted, or you can do a decorative window covering. I'm the type that feels like a room doesn't feel finished until it has some type of window covering + curtains (unless it's a super modern house, then maybe I'd just stick with remote controlled shades). So I'd probably do some kind of blind plus curtains.

Some inspiration for transom windows (I think the frosted transom, with blinds below and curtains look really nice):

I’d do light filtering roller shades on the bottom and keep the top transom treatment-less or go with a single long roller shade mounted above the window and the shade could be used for the entire window.

Roller shades are less visually busy than cellular shades IMO.

I agree with @Foodnerd81. I’d do curtains above the top window.

A shaded salesperson had suggested solar shades too, which I think could look nice if done right. But I was afraid our family room would end up looking like a Panera or something.

We have similar windows in my family room and it gets a lot of sun at certain times of the day. After a lot of back and forth we opted to do long white curtains hung above the top windows. Anything in the window frame just felt like it would look weird. Here it is right after we finished. We can close the curtains when it’s really bright and it softens the light but doesn’t make it too dark.

I was going to put light filtering cellular shades in the bottom 3 windows since the sun in the morning is obnoxious. But what do I do to the top 3 small windows? Nothing? Some sort of shade? Would love ideas from someone better at this then me
