@Emsmems: our older dog does this too!

She is a Hospice volunteer with me & has been a thearpy dog (not certified) for years. She knows how to shake, sit, stay, lay down, sit pretty, fetch, catch, roll over, sit pretty (dancing on hind legs), stop drop roll (fire drill), leave it, easy up (gently crawls up on a lab, comes in handy while visiting patients), smell, find papa, off, bed...I'm sure there is more the dog can damn near speak english & use to say I love you.

You shkuld totally take some training classes or something for the dogs that do the obstacle courses

@char54: We did the bells for potty outside too. He caught on really fast and it was so nice when he was a puppy to have him tell US when he needed to go out.

This site has some fun ones. I need to teach our guy a few fun ones, he just does the basics now (sit, stay, shake, sit pretty, laydown, spin).

So cute! Our beagle/boston terrier mix chases squirrels.....not much of a trick. Oh and she likes to bite her big brother (a black lab) on the heels.... :-(

Play dead! We did it where we say "bang" and "shoot" her with our finger.

A good safety one is "leave it" so they know they can't have something. Works well when you drop a pill on the ground and they want to immediately eat it, but leave it keeps them safe!

he is too cute! love the ears. i used to give my dog commands in french along with the hand signals we learned in our obedience class. then i could tell people he spoke french. ;) we knew a family who did the same thing only spelled the commands so they told everyone their dog could spell.

Such a cute puppy!

I know a great dane that will start backing up when you say "Beep Beep Beep Beep..." like, fork-lift style. It's impressive.

My dogs have a small repertoire of tricks. Just the basics. They would rather fetch, eat, smell things and sleep. But that's what labs do. :)

Omg - What a cutie!! I love those ears!!!

We trained our dog to ring a bell to go outside...it's nice not to have him bark, though sometimes he rings it because he wants attention, lol.

He also plays "which paw", where I hide a treat in one of my hands and put them both behind my back so he can't see. Then I put them both out and he has to touch which hand he thinks it's in. If I open it and its empty, he knows to touch my other hand.

My dog, Leroy is now 14 weeks old (I have had him since he was 12 weeks) and is learning fast!! He's learned sit, lie down, stay, shake hands and spin! I'm doing clicker training and I am amazed at how fast he's catching on!

Because he is learning so well and so fast, I am starting to dream about teaching him all kinds of fun and impressive tricks!

What are some cute/unique tricks I could teach him next? What are some awesome tricks you have taught your dog?
