@MrsCB: i have heard that too -- if you want to see if it helps, cut gluten entirely out at least for 3-4 weeks to know for sure.

i've been GF for about 7 years (due to celiac disease) - i can definitely recommend Udi's Bread - or Kinnickinnick (sp?) (canadian company). For pasta - I think Tinkyada is best, if your'e looking for alternatives, but natural things to swap are Quinoa or rice.

Hidden gluten: Soy Sauce! i never knew until i went GF.

hmm, can't think of anything else to recommend but feel free to ask questions.

A friend of mine just started a gluten free website with her recipes - http://ourgfreelife.com/. It's pretty new, so she doesn't have a ton of them on there yet. And she's not vegetarian, but there are some thing on there like mac n cheese, cornbread and a fritatta that don't have meat.

BTW, you might want to check, but I think I read that to really find out if gluten is affecting you, you can't just reduce it, you have to eliminate it completely for a few weeks.

If you can't eat nuts and are vegetarian, I'd stay away from paleo as it would be very limiting, but eliminating gluten, you would still have lots of choices! Corn, rice, potato, quinoa are all fine! While not strictly a gluten free site, I like skinnytaste website, her recipes are all delicious and if they contain gluten she will note a substitute. I find most of her recipes are gf anyway though. Good luck!

Quinoa and sunflower have been amazing for us. LO is essentially vegan as well as GF (and a ton of other eliminations) and quinoa has been a great source of protein and grain replacer for him (it's technically a seed).

I know many of you eat gluten free or paleo. I have been having stomach issues for months now and want to try something in my diet to see if it helps. I would like to cut out as much gluten as I can to see if that helps. My DH is inboard with me and we want to learn together. I would really appreciate some tips from you experienced bees!!
Here's the issue though- I am allergic to nuts ( can eat peanuts) and have been a vegetarian for over 20 years. I eat dairy and eggs. Any tips, recipes, websites, blogs that you find helpful would be greatly appreciated. I don't think we can cut it out completely but looking to control what I can in our house and cooking. Thanks bees!!
