I know this is an old thread but anyone buy an ava bracelet and not like it or were using it for ttc purposes and get pregnant want to sell theirs?
I'd love to temp for a few months to make sure I'm ovulating and would love to not spend 250.

I've tried with a regular thermometer it's just too hard with a little already

I'm debating on getting this. There's also something called Tempdrop that is similar and currently in development. It's slightly cheaper then Ava. I was researching Ava and someone pointed out that there's a wearable thermometer marketed for children to wear over night so you can monitor temps. That runs around $60-$70. Not sure how accurate it is though.
I temp to prevent so I need something VERY accurate. No surprises here thank you very much!!

@lamariniere: I would say 5 days before plus 3 days after. Most people would probably say 2 days after since an egg is only supposed to be available to be fertilized for 24-48hpirs after ovulation but my son would disagree with that

This may be a really dumb question, but if you know when you ovulate, how many days before you ovulate do you start using protection (if you are trying to avoid pregnancy)? I'm not sure I would use a product like this since I can usually feel when I'm ovulating. But I've never really understood the window you should avoid being unprotected when you are not trying to get pregnant.

I have it! It is nice, but not absolutely amazing.

I find that it does a good job of tracking my BBT and confirming the timing of ovulation based on the temps.

It *claims* that it uses the other biometrics to predict ovulation, but, I haven't found that its predictions are any more accurate than counting based on past cycle data. In cycles where I've ovulated late or early it hasn't shown the correct day until I've had two or three elevated temps.

The data display that the Ava app uses doesn't scale temperatures such that you can easily see a clear shift. So, if you want to "check its math" the chart looks better if you put the temps in Fertility Friend, Kindara, etc.

I have a toddler who is up 2-4x/night, so, regular temping isn't a good option for me anymore. Ava has been a nice replacement.

The company that makes it is extremely receptive to user feedback and is obviously continuing to put work into improving the user experience and the accuracy of the algorithm/predictions.

If anyone wants one I'm happy to give you a promo code for $$ off - just wall me.

@agold: Ha, I saw that too. And you can apparently get $20 off using their promotional code. 😜

I do think it seems like a pretty cool idea, and while expensive, if you think about how much you might spend on digital OPKs over time, or if you pay for the VIP version of Fertility Friend, etc, it's not THAT bad. There's actually a smart thermometer out there for TTC that syncs with your phone and such and it's even more pricey, like $300 or something? I'd consider this bracelet for preventing purposes, but I think I'll wait till it's been on the market a while and has more reviews.

I heard about this bracelet through instagram. Jade and Tanner from the bachelor posted about it. $199 is a lot and I think it may be lame. But I'll probably buy it at some point soon since I hope to try for a second without having to resort to IVF again. $199 is a drop in the IVF bucket!

As someone who had to track my cycles pretty meticulously to get pregnant (but got pregnant fairly easily once I figured them out), I'd consider it if we try for one more - b/c with multiple kids in the house now, I definitely don't always sleep through the night or have the luxury of laying in bed for the time it takes to temp in the AM while someone is screaming for me :)

I hadn't heard of this but it looks really cool! I also always wanted charting to work for me but I'm still in and out of my kids rooms at random times throughout the night / early morning so I never felt like it was going to be accurate enough to use for preventing pregnancy. If you do get it let us know what you think! I do think $199 is expensive, BUT if it works its totally worth it, do they have any kind of money back guarantee / return process in case it doesn't work for you?

Has anyone heard of the Ava Bracelet for cycle tracking? Charting never worked for me because I usually wake to pee in the early mornings and don't consistently wake at the same time, so I didn't have a good time to reliably temp. But this bracelet essentially automatically monitors your temp (and other things) and syncs with an app to predict ovulation. My husband and I are done having kids but because of some health issues he's having, we've had to delay his vasectomy. We're using condoms for now, but it would be nice to use this to know for sure what days we need to be extra careful. If it was $100 I would have pulled the trigger, but $199 is a little steep for something so new to the market. What do you think?
