But then I noticed we were walking past a local church marquee that had a huge "Black Lives Matter" sign up in big letters. So he was just reading the sign, and was curious what it meant.</p> <p>We had a long talk about race and policing, but I wasn't sure what the appropriate level of detail was for a five year old. We'll probably pick up the conversation again later, after I've had a chance to collect my thoughts a bit.</p> <p>How would you have responded to your child if they were around 5-6 years old? </p>
