So so sorry. I had a sucky experience in that they didn't get all the tissue out. It's extremely rare, my doctor said its never happened to her before, but it really sucked for me because my body was still trying to get it out by bleeding like crazy, but I had sticky placenta so it wasn't budging. The second d&c however was a lot better. Like others said, physically I felt ok but emotionally I was a wreck.

I'm so sorry. I worked from home after, but I actually felt more or less fine physically (emotionally was another story).

I had my d&c on a Thursday and took Friday plus the weekend off. I started to mc naturally that morning and was in pain with bleeding. After the d&c I barely had any pain (cramping for 48hrs) and spotted for about 72hrs. I took the time off to lay in bed, cry, and sleep.

Again I am so sorry for you. Its so hard. Hugs and I'm here if you need to talk. Hugs.

We had to deliver when we had our miscarriage since we were so far along. I went back to work about a week later. Physically I was fine, but emotionally those first few days were hard. For me personally, I needed to go back to work.

I didn’t have a D&C (miscarried naturally) but I was off work for a week and a half. And going back was still really hard. Hugs!

I don't have any experience with the D&C, I had a medically induced miscarriage. I wouldn't recommend going back to work right away, if you can swing it. I took a week off with sick leave just to mourn the loss. I would highly recommend taking some time. ***Hugs***

Ah hun, I'm so sorry for your loss. As far as recovery after a D&C, it's really not so bad. I would probably take the next day off of work though. Physically you may feel up to it, but mentally maybe not. With mine, I was feeling fine by the next day. Just some bleeding and a little bit of cramping. I had mine on a Friday so I had two days afterwards before I went back to work. Monday was still really hard though. Everyone at work knew and I was crying at work the first couple of days. It was like having a heavy period. I bled for 10 days. Let me know if you have any questions about my experience with a D&C. Again, so sorry you have to go through this.

ETA: Oh and I wanted to add that I had taken the whole week off before the D&C. It was a whole ordeal of doc visits and not really knowing yet...I just couldn't be at work. I'm glad I had that time off, but I wish I had more time to take off after the D&C b/c like I said, the first couple days back at work were really hard for me emotionally.
