Oh yeah. My son used his hungry caterpillar book to stand on and get into the car. The only thing we have done is work on teaching him how to do things safely. We work on feet first and turning onto his stomach. Before he was walking we had a 3 step ladder. I stepped away and came back to him all the way on the 3rd step. He is crazy!

DS is a little explorer! It scares me to death sometimes! We're currently living in a hotel (mid-move) and he busted his lip this morning. He's too curious for his own good sometimes.

We basically removed everything in our living room except for the TV and sofa! No tables/lamps of any kind. Literally just a TV and Sofa and his toy/playroom stuff. We have a bookshelf that has round edges for his books and we have a toy cubby with baskets that we baby proofed. We also placed foam tiles on our entire living room floor (because they're hardwood). Maybe a little overboard but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I feel the same way. My LO loves to climb on things, the other day she turned her toy bin over and was "drumming" on it and the next thing I knew she was on top of it! Shes only 10 months!

@Maysprout: I feel that. Lala is the smallest girl in her class, but probably the most fearless. Oh well... just be glad they aren't playing soccer or lacrosse yet!

@Mrs. Jacks: Aww poor girl. Yeah LO does not seem to be all that phased by bumps and bruises, the reward of climbing is just too much. I feel like a bad mommy, people don't know me yet since we just moved, they meet baby and comment on the little skinned knees. I'm glad she likes exploring but I feel like there's always a new little bump or bruise and she's just a little thing.

That's how we've ended up with a permanent dent in Lala's head. She decided to scale a step stool with a bar across the top and crashed to the kitchen floor :(

She has no fear. When we push other kids in the swing, they are all "not so high". We're used to having to push as hard as we can for our little daredevil!

Anyone else have a little explorer? I feel like my daughter can turn anything into danger nowadays. I was doing dishes yesterday and she was pushing a big toy car around the kitchen. Next thing I know she's standing on it trying to surf. Today I went to go pour myself a cup of coffee and she turned her book basket into a rocking chair. When I came back she looked up to smile and me and ended up toppling forward into the coffee table.

I feel like I need to make our house into a foam house. She's only 13 months so I feel like danger baby is not going to be less dangerous any time soon. Anyone else with a danger baby and how did you make things safe for them while still letting them explore?
