My LO started about 10 weeks and when we dropped her off I started crying while telling the teachers about her routine. My mom called to see how drop off went and we both cried on the phone together.<br /> Now we're 2 weeks in and it's getting easier but it still sucks. We put her in daycare a week before I went back to work so I could get used to it! I'm a newbie :) … I wanted to get your thoughts on day care.</p> <p>Our DS is going to be 6 months next week and until now, my husband and I have been fortunate enough to not have to think about day care. My MIL stayed with us (and spoiled us rotten) for the first 4 months of our LO's life and for the last 2 months, our work schedules have been flexible enough that DH and I could take turns working from home. Now that DH has changed jobs, we no longer have that flexibility.</p> <p>We were on a couple waiting lists (who knew getting into a day care center would be so difficult!) but luckily a spot opened up and DS will be starting in September. I know I should be happy that we found a good place for him but I have to admit, I am REALLY anxious about the whole thing! I'm having a hard time with the thought of just dropping him off and leaving him somewhere for the entire day. What if he cries or gets upset during the day? Am I being a total wuss? Totally paranoid and over-protective? </p> <p>Has anyone else experienced anxiety about putting their child in day care? Do you think it's worth it to transition him in slowly (a couple hours the first day, half day the second day) until we work up to a full day… or should we just jump right in? Any thoughts or advice would be truly appreciated! </p>
