And the current daycare has agreed to let us out of paying for February. We'll "lose" our last month deposit (i.e., for March), but they'll hold on to it indefinitely and apply it against fees if we decide to go back there. Yes, this daycare requires 2 full calendar months notice to either leave or change the number of days. Most of the daycares in the city only require 2 weeks notice (and so can only give you 2 weeks notice when a spot becomes available). We are VERY thankful that the current place has been so accommodating. The site feels ligher and airier (the current daycare is in an office building) I think we'll switch! We're going to walk over to the site and check it out again. I just ran the numbers and it will be at LEAST $500 a month cheaper, some months up to 700 cheaper, depending on the number of days in the month. </p> <p>She's only been at the other daycare for 1 full week. We did a transition week starting Jan 6, where she went in for an hour or two, gradually increasing the time she spent there. Last week was her first full week, and she got sick Tuesday evening with croup, so she was home Wed &amp; Thurs. So, she's only been there 2 full days. Today is her 3rd day. </p> <p>As long as we still like the other one better when we visit today, I think we'll switch. Our preferred day care that we've been on a waiting list for since July 2012 called today to offer us a spot starting February 1st. I don't know what to do! We started at our 2nd option in early January, and she's adjusted really well —as in tears one day out of 2 weeks. Our current day care is probably $500 a month more than the one we can switch to. I'm so conflicted and don't know what to do. :( </p>
