100% night! So much easier when they just sleep. It makes the trip quicker and more enjoyable for everyone involved.

we did a 12 hour trip with LO when she was 7months old, we drove through the night and she slept through it, there is also much less traffic on the roads at night

i do a 2.5-3 hour trip to my parents pretty often and i prefer to leave at night so she sleeps the whole time. if i leave any other time, i definitely have to stop for her to eat/change her diaper, have a change of scenery. so transitioning at night can be a pain, she usually sleeps the whole trip, which is much easier for me!

DH and I are going to visit family next weekend. It's a four hour drive away. LO is currently taking two naps; one at 10am and the second at 2pm. Bedtime is 8:30. We're trying to decide whether it's better to go during the day and hope to keep her entertained, or to go at night when she'll sleep through the whole thing. If we do that, we'll get there around midnight and have to set up the pack and play and try to transition her to it. Not sure how that would go.

Has anyone else done this kind of trip with an LO around Baby A's age? What did you do? Any advice?
