They had a sign up sheet for everyone to indicate what days next week they will be in or out and the center will staff accordingly. Honestly I would be furious if my day care closed with little warning because of low attendance. Also, we pay the same every week despite holidays or closings for weather, etc. Will you still have to pay for the 3rd, because if so, I would go even more ballistic. I hate to make people work when it's not necessary, but giving you less than a week's notice on a holiday weekend is not helpful to working parents. You depend on that care. They publish a formal holiday schedule that stays the same from year to year, and I haven't heard differently yet. My husband is off that day, so we've toyed around with the idea of me taking off and keeping her out to do something fun for the family. I'd bet a lot of other people will be as well.
