I was extremely anxious about returning. I won't lie and say it was super easy, but it has definitely been better than I thought. It helps that I like my job and my coworkers.</p> <p>@autumnlove: Well, the day is still going, since I'm on the West Coast :) But so far, so good. And daycare hasn't called me, so I assume he's eating! I'm enjoying the change of the day-to-day so far. LO is almost 4 months old, but I've been out since several weeks before my due date. While I'm sad and definitely cried a bit at daycare and on the way to work, I'd also like to report that the day has gone better overall than I anticipated. Thought this might help other moms returning to work. Here are some other firsts for today:</p> <p>1) LO's first day at daycare<br /> 2) My first day away from him for more than 3 hours<br /> 3) My first time pumping on a schedule<br /> 4) My ability to get both hands on the computer when I want<br /> 5) Was able to eat my lunch in peace<br /> 6) No fear of spit-up all over my clothes<br /> 7) Adult conversation everywhere I look</p> <p>I was definitely sad all week last week, over the weekend, and especially when I said goodbye to him at daycare this morning. Luckily my husband came with me for more support. I'm grateful that we're taking him to a home daycare, and I love the caregivers. I know he's in good hands, even though I miss him! So far, the anticipation was worse than the actual day.</p> <p>Remind me of this post when I return truly fulltime in 2 weeks! </p>
