I think you may just have to wait and see how he does with the napping. My LO doesn't nap well at daycare, so her bedtime is even earlier now (6:30).

My LO never napped well at daycare. She goes to a smaller in home now and naps better but she still needs at least 12 hours at night and is pretty miserable without it despite napping well. She sleeps 7-7 currently.

My LO doesn't go to daycare but I know many babies do not nap great at daycare at least at first. Will your LO sleep in the car? A cat nap on the commute might help so you can take your time with him when you get home, but I honestly would not move his bedtime back too much until you see how he naps there. Good luck!

If you had to shorten your LO's nighttime sleep because of daycare did they eventually compensate with a longer nap?

E currently sleeps 12.5-13 hours a night, but when I start work in early April I think I'll need to shorten it. I'm just not sure how I can manage to do everything that we need to do with the current amount of sleep he's currently. They serve breakfast at the daycare so I can probably skip that at home, but we'll have a commute. Then at night another commute, plus dinner, bath, reading, etc.

I'd like to be able to push his bedtime back so we can have a little bit of time together in the evening that isn't rushed, and I'm hoping he'll make up for it with a longer nap. Or am I deluding myself?
