This thread makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside! My son's first day of daycare was so sad for me too. He was 2 years old though so the experience was different but it's still heart breaking nonetheless. He was crying and crying and calling for me. :( At 2, they totally know what's going on and I felt like I was abandoning him. I don't think he knew whether or not I would ever be coming back because he had never been away from either my mom or I...ever!

I'm sure it's hard leaving a young one at daycare too. But they DO thrive in daycare and it'll be a good experience for your LOs. Good luck mamas! It'll get better in time!!!!!

@Mrsbells: we survived our first day of daycare!!! As soon as my husband told me he picked her up I bolted out of work!!! What a great feeling to hold her. She's nursing now and falling asleep. I know I should put her down but I don't wanna!

@regberadaisy: Awww thats good news that she is napping now. Its easier when you here that you baby is doing okay without you there.
Yes I did type up a list of things for them to do but i didnt include the formula thing on the list. I will have to update it

@Mrsbells: aw I just caught your update! M does not like formula either and she'll fuss at taking it so if they would have given her formula first she would have done the same thing. I was able to keep her breastmilk in lasinoh bags and they pour into the bottles. Take more as needed. I brought in a box of RTF formula bottles and told her those are only for when bm runs out.
A tip my cousin gave me is to write all those little tidbits on a sheet of paper. The teachers love it bc they can reference it.
Just as I was talking to my husband about how I knew this was going to be hard just not this hard. They called me and my first thought was she's bawling her eyes out! We have to go get her now!
She took her first 4oz bottle of the day then the teacher rocked her and she's napping in a swing. Made me feel a little better.

I'm so afraid she's bawling her eyes out. Even if she was I don't think they will tell me. :(

I finally called an hour after she should have taken her first bottle and I could hear her screaming!! The lady told me she had taken nearly an hour to eat and still had 2oz left! The thing that makes me sad + mad is they gave her the wrong bottle! She only needs 3 bottles during the day but I packed a 4th one just in case and th 4th one is formula, but the 1st 3 are breast milk and I wrote a big fat number 4 on the formula bottle and told them to only give her that one if I am running late but for some reason they gave her that one first!!!! And she really doesnt like formula anyway. I feel terrible for her. I wanna just go pick her up and then quit my job!

They did tell me that she had a nice 40 minute nap though. so thats one good thing.

I think all the women of america need to march to the whitehouse and demand longer maternity leave.

@Andrea: Thanks!
@BabyBoecksMom: I desperately want to go see her since she is only 5 minutes away from where I work, but I think it will be harder on her if she sees me and then I leave again. She will cry all over again. I will definitely call in and see how she is doing soon.

LO is 12 weeks old + 3days. Today is her first day at daycare. I dropped her off about an hour ago and she was all happy and smiley when we arrived but when one of the ladies tried to put her in a swing she started crying her eyes out. It was soooooo hard to leave her there. Sigh I'm a work right now but cant even focus. I hope it gets easier.
