I think DS is the king of splotches, hives, and rashes. In the last two months we have been to the doc for a rash/skin thing. When I take him in they almost always say it is caused by a virus and that there isn't anything they can do, but just in case they'll call in a prescription for some sort of cream with varying components.

If it is hives, they splotches move around and disappear and reappear. If it is a rash it stays the same.

DD had red cheeks all last winter from cleaning her nose etc. We just put "Baby Kisses" on it and it went away.

Good luck!!!

DD has a cold too and she has had some splotches that seem a little unexplained. They fade and come back. Her doc said if they stay or spread or become raised to call her back. So far it hasn't changed. Any update??

Thank you both. She doesn't have a paci and she's only drinking breastmilk. I think she's just rubbing her face because she doesn't feel well. Poor thing. :(

S gets splotches all the time from rubbing food against his face when he is eating, I used to worry they were allergies, but they go away pretty quickly after I give his face a good wash with cool water.

My LO gets red bumps around her mouth if she's using the paci too much. Moisture gets trapped under the paci and creates irritation. Could it be from that?

J has a cold, so when daycare called, I totally thought they were going to say she had a fever or something, but I guess she has some splotches on her face!? I wish I could see what they were talking about. They said I didn't need to pick her up or anything, but I can't help but worry a little. I have to work late tonight too. Wonder if it's a virus, allergies, scratches?!

Has your LO ever had anything like this?
