I think that's weird. But like you said, if she wants to use her vacation to watch other kids, than so be it.

A bit weird, yes. If you want to "test" her, you can casually question her about what she did on vacation. But if she ends up lying, then that could open up a can of worms about trust. So it depends if you want to deal with that or not.....

I'm with @MamaMoose... She has a week to use her vacation and I don't think she's required to tell u how she used it. I think it would be weird if she wasn't upfront with you if u ask her how her vacation went...

It does seem a little odd. But as you said she gets a week of vacation so as long as she's not leaving you hanging for more days than you agreed upon I guess I would just let it go and not worry about it.

So my son goes to an in-home daycare provider. I really like her and her husband. They are an older couple and are both very nice, great with the kids and patient.

They "closed" for vacation last Thursday through this Wednesday and he went back yesterday. The odd thing was, that I drive by the house on my way to work anyway, and last Thursday and Friday I saw other parents in the driveway. The woman has twin grandsons who are about 8 months old, so I'm assuming that something was up with their daycare (parents taking a vacation or their daycare closed) and that she needed for my son (12 months) not to be there so she could watch them. She is only licensed for 2 kids under 2 years of age, and it makes sense. She gets a week of vacation, so I don't care how she uses it. We made arrangements for our son and it was fine. I thought it was odd though, that she wasn't up front with us. I've met her grandkids before when her daughter was there with them, and I know her pretty well. We've spent time talking during pick ups when most of the other kids are gone already and would have thought she would have just told us.

Since my son has been back, things are fine and there was no mention of anything about the previous week. One of the girls, 4 years old, said "Yay L's back, I missed him" but that really doesn't tell me anything.

Is this weird?
