for the holidays and teacher appreciation week, we give them $15-$20 gift cards--we usually have 4 teachers, 2 floaters, and 2 admin. i've since heard that this is a little low for the area (yikes!). when we left the infant room after being there for a year (so different than you), we gave $50 cards. that was $$$.

@Mamaof2: giving different amounts you mean? Hahaha
I think the lead teachers are way better with her so they deserve more recognition!

And the assistant is a floater so she's not always in the room either.

@locavore_mama: My sister is a daycare teacher and she always advised me against doing this. She said they will all talk about you! :silly:

Honestly though I feel that the head teacher and assistant do a lot of work so I always give everyone the same amount!

I think $15 is fine. Especially since there are so many of them and he's only been there a short time.

@Adira: @Mamaof2: @locavore_mama: Thanks for the input - I don't want to seem cheap, but I don't know what the norm is either! We really like her infant teachers (wish we could stay in the room longer), so we'd like to say thank you.

I generally give the lead teachers a bigger gift.

When LO moved infant to toddler I didn't give a gift. But she's moving from the 2 to 3 room in a few weeks. And her 2's teachers are absolutely fantastic. LO loves them and talks about about them a lot. So we're getting them a gift to say thank you.

She has 2 lead teachers and one extra who just started maybe 2 months ago? I'm going to do $25 target gc for the 2 leads and a $10 for the other. Some kind of homemade / baked goods and a card by LO saying thank you.

I don't usually give gifts for moving up but for birthdays I do $10 gift card along with some treats packaged in a fun mason jar.

If I had 5 teachers I would do a big breakfast tray (bagels, muffins, pastries) for them!

I spent $20 (maybe $25) the last time I bought gifts for our teachers, but Xander had been in that room for a year and there were only three of them! If it had only been 6 months and there were 5 of them, I'd be more inclined to go with $15!

We're moving up to the toddler room at daycare, and we're planning to give coffee gift cards to the teachers in the infant room, along with cards that LO decorated.

LO has only been in the infant room for 6 months (since 14 months), and there are 5 teachers to buy gifts for.

I have no idea how much to spend on them. DH was thinking $15, but I was thinking more like $25.

What does everyone else spend on daycare caregiver gifts?
