Daycare hasn't sent stuff home to do, but we do have that in preschool every so often. I don't mind it, my husband actually gets really into it.

@Applesandbananas: No projects, thankfully. I love that my in home daycare doesn't ask us for anything. Sometimes they send home "homework" if LO is working on something when I pick her up and she just can't stop. It then becomes "homework" but we don't have to bring it back. DD takes it seriously though because she sees the older kids do homework.

@mrsjazz: hahaha, my DH just watches from a distance, gasping dramatically every time the washable paint hits something other than the project lol!

@Applesandbananas: My DH always wants to do more or try and direct LO/fix what she's doing and I always have to stop him and tell him to let her do her thing, it's not HIS project!

@mrsjazz: yeah, I think ours are family projects too. My contribution has been limiting the amount of paint that makes it on the walls, the floor, the dog, etc. ;)

Our preschool calls them family projects that we are supposed to do together. Some look better than others depending on how much LO wants to do--but we all participate.

Does your LO's daycare ever ask you to do projects at home? We're asked to decorate a Valentine's Day box for him to put his valentines in and similar stuff throughout the year.

I always let LO decorate however he wants, with paint, markers, stickers, etc. and it always looks like a toddler did it lol. Last year, all th Valentine boxes were soooo nicely done, I felt a little embarrassed, but really, it's supposed to be LO doing it, right?

I did the same kind of thing with his valentines. I bought cans of play doh and let him decorate them with heart stickers. I wrote from LO on them but let him stick them on and some are upside down and some have like eight stickers and some have one, but I wanted LO to do it!

Do you let LO take the lead on daycare projects or do you "help"?
