There are always childcare recommendations coming through ours. That is what we did for LO's first year before we left the city and it worked great - no waiting lists or touring daycares, and lots of one on one attention. It was also no more expensive than daycare. We found our share family on a nannyshare website and meet up and interviewed nannies together. I loved it there and cried on our last day! We were in Brooklyn and ended up doing a nanny share instead of daycare. Google helped a lot when l started looking in my neighborhood, also see if there's an Astoria moms FB group where you can ask. I am 10w now, and hoping to negotiate 6 months off, but am already stressed about finding care for my LO. Any advice from big city bees who ran into similar challenges on where to begin? </p>
