D? I, as an adult and kid, would get colds and sick every year for the whole winter. It wasn't until last year I started taking vitamin d supplements and I didn't get sick ONCE last winter! It was so great. </p> <p>I read that vitamin d is 800% more effective than a flu shot and a natural immunity booster.</p> <p>Also, diet can be a huge contributing factor. Ugh it's awful!!!!!! The poor child was sick from the age of 2-5 I swear! He's starting a new school this fall, so I know we're going to go through it all over again since it's new kids, new germs.</p> <p>I usually get everything he has, I'm sick from the day he leaves us (he's with us every other weekend), until about 2 days before he comes back. I have 4 healthy days, and then back into the cycle. Last winter wasn't AS bad, but the year before was vicious for both of us! At our 4 month pedi appointment she told us to expect our son to be sick every two weeks during the first winter, every three weeks the second winter and by the third winter he should be good. Um, its not winter yet and he has had two colds in the month that he has been in daycare! She then went on to list all the sicknesses to expect and holy cow.
