Thanks, ladies! I am also leaning toward the yumbox - 4 compartment one.

I don't know if they will heat up food, but I do have the thermos foogo containers!

I often send our LO with breakfast because she’s not a morning person and usually sleeps in.
I find it best to keep it simple.
- PB on toast with fruit
- Home made waffles and applesauce (DH makes waffles on the weekend then we freeze them, we also make our own maple syrup).
- scrambled eggs and yogurt

Those are the standards.

I love the yumbox.

Do they heat up food? If not, I'd do a smoothie or yogurt with a muffin or a peanut butter bagel.

What's the morning snack that they serve?

You can send cereal with milk in a separate container, muffins of any kind, waffle sticks with maple syrup to dip, fruit/yogurt/granola parfaits, mini bagels with cream cheese, half a sandwich with nut butter and jelly and a fruit.

@imadreamer: will they heat breakfast or not? Our current center heats breakfast, so we pack in a microwaveable container. Our old center didn't hear, so we packed in a food thermos.

Anyway--we pack whatever we are actually eating at home that day and my husband is 100% in charge of breakfast on his own (making it and packing it). He usually does:

Scrambled eggs and fruit salad (bananas, blueberries, strawberries)

Oatmeal and fruit

Zucchini muffins and eggs with fruit

Mini pancakes with fruit

He doesn't really stray from those combinations.

We've enrolled our kids in a new daycare and they will start in the fall. This daycare serves a morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, so we will have to pack breakfast for the girls.

We love our current daycare, but we were looking for a center that has a more structured young 5s curriculum. Hopefully this transition will not be too tough for the kids.

Our kindergarten cutoff is Sept 1 and she has a mid-Sept birthday, so I decided to hold her back one year.

Any breakfast ideas you can recommend?

Also, bento box / lunch box recommendations for a 5 year old and 3 year old?
