Just a misunderstanding-she probably thought you were being possessive about that particular hook. Like how people do not want someone else to street park in front of their house. Anyway- I hope you can explain to her the system you see that works well so that everyone can share fairly. You don't need that daily angst!

@peaches1038: our teachers at kinder do this too, but I'm mainly annoyed by the bunch of parents that don't reverse park. because our car park is a long driveway with 15 parallel car spaces on one side and a footpath on the other side. if you don't reverse park it makes it dangerous to see the kids walking down the footpath when they're all let out at pick up time. i'm always freaking out at the parents who reverse out fast without noticing the kids in the area.

My daycare annoyance is the parents that park in the handicapped spots at the front. One of DD's friends parents does this every day. How does she not realize that is not cool? And she even works at a mobility company for disabled vehicles.

Yes, I know they are more convenient but you are not handicapped crazy people...

@Ms. RV: thats so annoying!

our preschool labels the hooks and everyone gets two!

and when LO was in daycare each kid had their own cubby, also labeled with their photo and name so any confusion there would just be silly.

DD's daycare is constantly rearranging kids and cubbies. This last time it ended up with a cubby on top and one on the floor, with a longer thing in the middle that has two hooks for hanging things. DDs name was on the top cubby, and I missed it when a name got added to the one in the floor 🙊. That kid always came after dd and left before her, so I didn't realize for a few weeks that we were supposed to share the hooks. Oops! Once I realized I stopped bringing a backpack in for dd (there's just no room) and I only use her hook for her jacket now. But I felt bad (and dumb) when I put two and two together.

Of course, yours is a completely different situation since she obviously knows and is choosing to ignore!

We have a separate carpool line. If you miss carpool, you're supposed to park and walk through the door that's covered. The covered door where there's like a long portico is supposed to be left clear for emergency. There's a mom who parks there all the time...rain or shine. It bugs me bc why does she think she's special to park there when literally everyone else parks in parking lot? It's like 5 extra steps. She's also always dressed to the nines, heels, full makeup. She has time to do all that. So obviously she's not running late. I want to say something to director bc it annoys me to no end

I am so glad I am not the only one who has to deal with annoying daycare parents!!

@JessyMess: I think she was moving it to the cubby hooks next to the ones under their cubbies. Which makes zero sense. I am so grateful DD won't be going to the district where this lady teaches!

We go to an in home daycare. The driveway for drop off and pick up is large enough for four cars total to fit (2 by 2) but there is one parent who parks smack in the middle using up the entire driveway so if you arrive while they are inside getting the kid/stuff you have to wait out in the road for them to leave and then pull in. Very annoying.

Another vent was that one time I was behind another parent. We both walked out together!! Talking. I went to put dd in her carseat when BAM that lady who just walked out with me had backed into my car??!!! Wth

I know I take up more than LO's share of the cubby. DD's stuff was more compact before she (and all the kids) were asked to bring big warm blankets which take up the majority of the space.

My biggest annoyance is parking. There are two street spots and a driveway three spots deep. There's a sign that says "pull all the way forward." I get that it sucks to be the front car trapped in while two other parents drop off. I do everything I can to avoid it - except parking at the end of the empty driveway blocking the two empty spots. I saw a mom do that today. She must be really important.

There is a tiny bench in DD's room to use to put on/take off coats and get packed up. When there are multiple kids getting picked up, it seems obvious to share the bench, right??!! This one mom gets on my nerves, she and her daughter sit on the bench, stuff all over, no consideration at all for others who are struggling with a baby, coat, blanket, etc. Even if I wait a bit, I swear she takes extended time. Drives me crazy!

@sunny: Haha our preschool does it the wrong way too but I think it just works for everyone. The line for spots is off to the left, and people exit on their left too. :silly: It would drive me nuts if they were in the center though. It does drive me nuts when people take a long time getting in their car or whatever when they can see that there is a line!

Car line! There's a mom that always is first in car line but she takes the spot directly in front of the door instead of pulling all the way up, so you have to pull in front of her and then back into a spot along the curb if the spots behind her are taken.

That is so annoying.

I give major side eye to the people who can't seem to figure out the parking lot at daycare. There are only a few spots and they are pretty compact, but without fail people always park over the line and take up 2 spots. People also have a hard time STAYING TO THE RIGHT when exiting. I get that its tight, so its easier to get into the spots when you're in the center of the drive, but how are people supposed to get out of spots when you're taking up all the space!? Gah.

Gah...that sounds incredibly annoying.

We have a family at our daycare who I strongly dislike. They have 3 girls, and their youngest is in our DS2's class. The woman walks in, puts her kid down, puts her stuff in her cubby and walks out without a word to the staff, to me or even a goodbye kiss to her daughter. If we are ever walking in or out at the same time as her or her husband, neither will hold the door for you and neither will say a word to you if you hold the door for them. They're so snobby and it annoys me so much!

I had something similar happen with bottles creeping in LO's designated refrigerator space. I always had to move the other's baby's bottle to get mine in. One day I put his bottles away in the fridge first. The parent never creeped again. I think the parent finally realized our bottles were shorter and fatter and not like the tall, skinnyDr. Brown's I think they were using. The parent needed to be more careful and put the bottles behind her baby's name and not to the left.

My son shares a cubby at school. He just changed rooms, but in his old room I would get there and every.single.day the entire cubby would be full with this other kid's ginormous backpack. I would have to shove my son's coat in and hope it would fit. Luckily he only attends for half days so needs minimal stuff.

That sounds super annoying! I can't really think of anything that annoying at our daycare...maybe when people park too close to my car because it's harder to haul the carseat in and out. And there's a huge parking lot so...maybe don't park right next to me? :-P

The kids in my son's class have all their different storage spaces labeled so that helps. They have two shelf spots in a closet for spare clothes and things, a basket in the fridge for a bottle and a spot on the counter for food/utensils.

Okay. I had enough and need to vent about the parent of one of DD's classmate's mom. :silly:

On the wall in the class room there are five columns of cubbies stacked two high with two hooks underneath. The idea is you put your kid's stuff in their cubby and hang their jacket beneath on one of the hooks. Every. Single. Day. I have to move a tote bag and lunch bag to a cubbie because the mom of the boy above DD's cubbie insists on using both hooks. One day I got there before her and had DD's jacket on one hook. She got there and started moving DD's jacket so I said "Oh that's C's jacket. Her cubbie is right there." She said in reply "well they have to share." Uh yeah. Sharing means you get one hook not both.

Any one else want to vent about bad parent etiquette?
