My husband does it once a week and I do it the other 4. There have been times when I have called him to ask him to get her on one of my days and he replies, "I can't. I have this or that work thing," and I get so irritated because what the heck does he think I'm doing? I sold it to them by pointing out I've available to turn lab equipment on, set things up, etc when I get in at 7:30. </p> <p>I get frustrated that I don't have the luxury to stay late and go 'above and beyond' on a regular basis. I'm taking a work sponsored online class on my own time at their request so that's about 6 hours a week. I took them on the road via Bluetooth. I leave at 4:30 everyday unless I have advanced notice that I will need to stick around, and then I make other arrangements. My coworker asked both days "are you leaving early again?" And then the following day, complained that when I participated in the calls she could hear so much noise because I was driving. The meeting was with 3 of the company owners, my immediate supervisor, and a colleague. All men. </p> <p>At 5:20, just as we seemed to be getting somewhere with the meeting, I had to leave because I am responsible for daycare pickup (my husband works on the other side of town and didn't get enough notice to leave early to do the pickup).</p> <p>I'm sure I should just be pleased that I was at least invited to the meeting, but I absolutely HATE that I had to run out like that. </p>
