I agree with @autumnlove: to address your concerns with the teachers of the room before talking to the director.

In Xander's room, they have infants and toddlers up to 2 years old. But they have a separation so that non-walkers are kept on one side and the walkers are on the other so that no one can get hurt. They often just mix them all together, but only when they can have someone making sure the walkers don't walk over the non-walkers, if that makes sense.

I would talk to someone about that. It sounds like that kid is too big for the infant room.

R is the only one walking in her infant room because they wait and transition to the next rooms once a month. So we are waiting for the Director to get back from training. She needs to move up. I think that she is getting bored and will have more fun with kids more her age. All the other kids, minus 1, are younger and not walking, just barely crawling. And I don't want her stepping on a baby by accident either.

Talk to the director. I would think that a walking child would be moved up to the next room.

I wouldn't be too worried but I might voice any concern to the teachers before speaking to the director. There is a mix of early walkers and non walkers in our infant room.

Does the daycare have a cut off age for that room? Maybe this baby is in an inbetween stage where he's a little too big for this room but also too young for the next room up?

I'm not sure what your centers policy is about the ages of children in the same room, but I would definitely say something to the director about the things you witnessed and your concerns for your LO. I would not be comfortable with that if it were me.

I would talk to the director - at our school if the child begins to walk they will move him up early just for that reason - they don't want a newly walking child stepping on the non mobile babies!

DS is 3 months old and goes to a daycare center. In his room there is a much older baby who I'm a little worried is getting too old for the infant room. The older baby is walking and wears regular sneakers (not the soft soled ones) and this morning I saw him step on the midsection of a smaller baby laying a playmat. I kind of gasped and one of the teachers saw and grabbed him.

A couple minutes later I had put D in a bouncer and the bigger kid was over in his face, pulling on the bouncer. Again a teacher pulled him away. And while I had my back turned I heard a teacher tell the big kid not to get in the swing with another baby already in there.

I just feel like this kid is getting too old for the infant room and I'm worried about my son being around him. Maybe I'm a silly first time mom, I'm not sure. DH thinks we should just trust the teachers to keep him from hurting D.
