Target has these great balls that light up when they bounce (I believe in the party favor aisle in a package of two for $2-3) they are cheap and great stocking stuffers, my LO plays with her's nonstop!

Maybe a Target GC for the teachers.

I just picked up Sesame Street books (2/$1) and stacking cups at the Target dollar aisle for my 11 month old nephews. And I love the idea of cuties since oranges are traditional stocking stuffers. Something easy like a Starbucks gift card for the teachers.

At Target there's a 4 pack of Roseart play doh in the dollar aisle. So for three dollars, everyone's covered!

You could do cuties, instead of regular sized oranges...for some reason kids love them, lol

@mediagirl: there are lots of $1 things at Target and Party City. I got all the little toys there. I also made sure to clean them all in case they go inside little mouths right away. :-)

@Andrea: haha I actually thought about that...Oranges are a traditional stocking filler, I think!! :) Pouches are a good idea, too!

@T.H.O.U.: Nice, thanks! I'm looking to spend $1 per child.

Don't people put oranges in stockings? Those are cheap!

For DD2's first bday, I am giving the babies favor boxes. Squishy balls, fruit pouches, little musical rattles, squeaky bath books, puffs, etc. The same stuff can go in a stocking.

How much do you want to spend? If its just 9 kids, then Walmart, target, and michaels often has cute wooden toys that are unpainted. D loves them because its a toy and then I let her decorate it either with markers or paint. I know Walmart has little cars for $1 and I've seen wooden instruments for $1 at target.

@mediagirl: I was the annoying mom that brought individual sealed prunes for halloween. She thinks they are tummies and she loves them!

Michaels always has good stickers for kids. Plus with their 40% off coupons you could get them cheap.

On and swirly straws are another fun hit in our house.

I like the idea of stickers! I bet I can get a bunch of sheets for a small amount of money.

Our daycare room has decided that this year, they will put up stockings for all of the kids (and the two teachers) and ask parents to put something in each of the kids stockings (and I'm guessing they want something in their own stockings, as well).

Cute idea, in theory. These are 1-2 year olds, though - most of the kids are on the low range of that. So, I won't give candy to kids this age (I'm a scrooge, I know). What would you put in the stockings? There are 9 stockings, not including my kid's stocking.

I plan on putting cards in the teacher stockings. Also, I really hadn't planned on spending any money on the teachers this year so I'd like to keep this as cheap as possible....
