(((hugs)) I would definitely keep looking for alternate care options if I were you. I would be bothered if someone did not follow my instructions for care for MY child.

Are you looking for just in home or centers as well? Does your state have a licensing site? Those are usually a good starting point. Or family, friends, co-workers. Local parenting Facebook groups etc.

Happy First Birthday to your dd!

@grizz: @QBbride: @Adira: @swurlygurl: @sorrycharlie: Thanks for the support. I've tried looking some but have had little success. Well actually we did consider a daycare that is
associated with our church that we loved but the weekend before we planned to enroll we found out LO #2 is on the way. They didn't have an opening for an infant (not sure we could have afforded 2 in their program anyway) and we didn't want 2 drop offs / pick ups in an already hectic day. Anyway, thanks for the reassurance to trust my instinct and find something different.

@Jruess: I would also try to find a better fit, whether a daycare or a nanny - I think it's true that you may possibly not *love* everyone but you certainly should feel comfortable leaving your baby with them!

Trust goes a LONG way with how comfortable you are with your providers! You could have a provider that you didn't trust at all due to whatever random reason, and even if she did everything perfectly you'd still prefer someone you trust whole-heartedly who did things you didn't necessarily approve of.
I would definitely recommend switching. I think it's extremely important to feel confidant that your daycare provider is listening to your concerns and values your motherly input of your own child.

Ugh, deciding whether to switch daycares or not is sooooooo hard. I have definitely struggled with this a TON in the 14 months my son has been going.

But I definitely agree with you - the diaper situation is not okay. Our daycare center changes diapers every 2 hours, but if they smell a poopy diaper, they do it immediately. And I know too because sometimes they'll change it multiple times in the same hour. And we haven't had to deal with diaper rash in a long time now!

Hugs. Sounds like you need to find somewhere that is a better fit for you. For me personally, I was more comfortable with a daycare center rather than in-home daycare.

I know it's hard to switch, but I'd be looking so you can regain some peace of mind! We had a similar experience with a home daycare... I stood up to her finally, and she dropped our enrollment. We placed him elsewhere and are so glad we did! Hugs!

I am so done with our daycare! We send our DD (who turns 1 tomorrow. so maybe this is making me over-emotional) to an in- home daycare. I've pretty much always hated it. I feel like this lady thinks she know everything because she's been watching kids for a long time. I feel like she constantly questions my parenting choices and is defensive when I try to ask questions. Shes not consistent with things she tells me vs. my husband so I never know what to believe. for instance, the daily sheet I provide for her to complete shows she changes her diaper at the same time every day. My daughter has sensitive skin & gets diaper rash easy so poopy diapers need to be changed ASAP. She tells my husband she changes her diaper when she smells the dirty diaper. I know my daughter doesn't poop at the same time every day, so which is it? We just battled an insane diaper rash so I think she only does it on the schedule. She's just not my type of personality. I've tried to find other options but now that we are expecting #2 my options are more limited. My husband & mom are tired of listening to me complain so I feel like I have nobody to vent to or help me figure out other options. Part of me wonders if I will feel like this with anyone? It's just so tough leaving your child with someone else when you want to be the one with them. Ugh. This post really has no point. I just needed to vent.

On a side note, how is it possible my baby is going to be one tomorrow? Sob.
