I dont love my daycare, I like most of the women there they are truly very nice people and very nice to my baby but niceness doesnt cut it for me lol. They dont always follow my instructions in a professional manner.I feel like they do things the easy way for them.
Aside from LO getting sick a lot, they daycare has been good for her though, she has become so independent and much more social, she has learnt to play by herself and self soothe and can nap through noises.
I agree with @ladyfingers: though

@mrs. wagon: @ladyfingers: Yay! I'm glad. I love going to pick up DS from daycare not only because I miss him but because I get to see/play with the other kids! There are some seriously sweet kids at his daycare--they run up to me and give me hugs--aww!! When I leave with him, they'll come up to us and pat him on his leg and say "bye bye!"

That's so cute that your LO has a best buddy at daycare! My LO does too; she and one of her little buddies love to hold hands and "talk" to each other. They sit in this soft structure together and he will hit the toys that dangle and LO laughs when her buddy does this. <3

Our daycare is truly awesome! It's costing us more than we hoped, but the peace of mind is wonderful.

I love my daycare. I think it's been great for LO in tons of different ways- one of my favorites is how I think LO definitely learns some stuff faster when he's around the slightly older kids who are already doing something. He was napping on a cot, eating off a plate while sitting quietly at a little table with three other toddlers, and drinking from a regular cup WAY sooner than I'd expected, all because he sees those things modeled at daycare all day long. And while I think innate personality is probably the biggest determinant of shyness/outgoing-ness, I think it can only help that LO has many caregivers and friends. He hugs all the moms at daycare, and while if I'm around he'll sometimes have a mommy preference, he has zero problems being cared for by grandparents or DH or his aunt or our friends, or whoever else comes along- he's fine with getting a bath or being put to bed by virtually anyone. Plus, I think daycare has been really good for enforcing rules about sharing and taking turns... he's pretty unfazed when I tell him he has to take turns or share.
Plus they do cool projects with the kids during the day. And LO loves his teacher.

Thank you for posting this! I feel like there *is* so much crappy stuff out there about daycare, a lot of it from people who have their kids at daycare and feel bad about it. We have no choice -- we would be in dire financial straits if either of us stayed home with the baby, as nice as it would be -- so I hate feeling guilty about it all the time! Stuff like this makes me feel so much better :)

I was pretty nervous to send my 3 month old to daycare full time when I returned to work. I read too many horror stories and let's be honest, nobody is going to love and take care of my baby the way I do. He's been at his daycare for 3 1/2 months now and I am thrilled with our choice!

-He gives his teachers big smiles in the morning and before he goes home
-He socializes! He army crawls his way to a one particular little girl to play and hold hands
-He is in an infant room with so much space to crawl! When the big kids (1 yr to 2 yr olds) to go the gym, the babies are brought into the big kids room for more space to crawl and play.
-I feel the teachers there genuinely care about the kids

What do you like about your daycare?
