We usually let DS stay up an hour later. This year we have to be up early for a race, so it won't matter.

We started slowly moving the kids bedtime by about 10 min each night so hopefully by Sat, they will go to bed around 8:30/9pm (instead of their normal time of about an hour earlier) and I am crossing fingers that their wakeup times aren't too unbearable. LO2 has been waking for the day between 4:45 and 5am for the past 2 weeks though so I really have no idea what to expect (he typically gets up closer to 6).

@JLC53: I'm always up in the dark, so it makes no difference to me! But the night time walks home in pitch black are so miserable. :crying:

Ugh. Mega dreading this. We just got our kids on really good sleep schedules with the littlest one finally sleeping through the night and the big one sleeping a bit later (after a few weeks of 5 am wake ups). Thanks DST, you're useless and I hate you and your dark commutes home from work. :bummed:

I'm dreading the change for my daughter. She's going through the two year old sleep regression which means she is waking up at 5 every single morning. That could turn into 4 am with the time change. Ugh.

It stinks for sure. My boys are usually up by 5:30, so we might just tire them out like crazy on sat and hope for the best. They adjust in a couple of days.

DD1 is almost 3 and I have no recollection of what happened through all the DST whether it was spring fwd or fall back! And DD2 during the spring was only a few months so not really affected. I think DD2 will be fine since she can for sure sleep later; DD1 might be cranky b/c she doesn't nap anymore.

I much prefer fall back to spring ahead! I find that in the fall we just have a rough day or so - we’re all early risers anyway, and I usually have to wake them up at 6 to get ready for daycare, so this just makes that a bit easier until their clocks adjust. In the spring bedtime is a struggle for weeks.

Well my LO has been naturally wanting to go bed later and sleep later, she fought bedtime all last week and slept til 7:30 both weekend days. Problem is she needs to get up around 6:10 during the week so I'm actually looking forward to DST this time around!

I’m not looking forward to it because it’s barely light at 7 now so my kiddos won’t be keeping their 7 am time. 6 am is not a good time for me. Wah!!

Oh gosh, I didn't even think about this! It was fine last year but DD was only 6 months old and still waking up often at night. I know others have had luck with gradually changing bedtime by 15 mins or so a night leading up to DST.

My dd did get better about it or at least staying in bed but she's five. I fully expect my son to wake up.. but truth be told we've been getting up a little late anyway lately. I hate daylight savings though.

Anyone else dreading it as much as I am?

Last year was torture and our first experience with LO. My 6am wake baby turned into a 5am riser for months. Finally got him to 6am the last month or so. I didn't change a thing come Daylight Savings Time (spring ahead) and have blissfully been enjoying the 7am wake up time. I am up early, but I love that time to myself in the morning to, you know, shower in peace, etc... This year, I am hoping LO is a bit older and will adjust more quickly. Anyone find this to be true?
