This is when I'm really glad we don't have a fixed schedule. We were on a road trip and scheduled to drive home on Sunday. He woke up a little before 8, which is early for him, adjusting for the time change. He napped during the drive home and then went to bed at a pretty normal time. We couldn't have planned too much because we were traveling, and it worked out.

I probably shouldn't complain...I thought we were superstars. He took three hour + naps yesterday which is a record for him so far. Then he went down at 7:15 with only minimal delay. Then he was up for another bottle at 10:30 and another at 2:30. And just wouldn't settle. So I guess we paid for the naps with overnight problems! Still trying to figure out this little guys schedule.

I didn't think we were affected since the babies are only 6 months but I think they were teething, sleep regression, gassy, witching hour or all the above but they were both screaming their heads off all day yesterday.

DD went to sleep normal time the night before, woke up at 7 (the new 6), but then randomly went back to taking 2 naps (10-10:40, 2-3). She also has a cold tho, so maybe the combo of both?

Today's the real test because yesterday we basically just let her sleep normally til 8 (old 7) and put her to bed almost an hour late. I'm hoping we can use DST to shift her bedtime/wake-up time just a little bit later because lately she's waking up while we're trying to get ready for work/20 minutes or so earlier than we need to wake her up.

This am she was obviously very sleepy when we got her up at 6:15 and was much quieter in the car than normal. I have no idea how they deal with the time change at DC either!

On Sunday we had to wake DS up super early to get him to swim class (in the water) by 8. He took s really solid 2.5 hour nap and still went to bed on time. This morning he slept extra ( until 7). I much prefer springing forward than behind!

DS got up around 9:30, which isn't atypical since he doesn't go down easily, it's usually 10pm or later before he falls asleep. No nap plus we went out with his daycare bff and they played HARD for 4+ hours. Came home, had bath, dinner, and he still stayed up until 10 (although no nap is also the norm). He got up at 3 and has been up ever since.

We set an alarm this morning to wake her up (usually we let her sleep in on the weekend). Woke her up at the new 8:30 (she probably would have slept another hour of we left her). She ran around and played all day at the children's museum. She was in bed and lights out at the new 7:30 (that's her usual bedtime) and she promptly passed out - success!!! So glad it worked out bc we have to wake her up for school at 7:00

Ugh. Up at 10pm after sleeping from 730-8 crying from 8-9 and baby party time since 9. I even tried twice to nurse her down and met with total failures. Wth. I'm about to try a third time when I go to bed. It's like with each month her sleep just gets worse.

@runnerd: we worked with a sleep consultant and this is exactly what she suggests for time changes. Do a half hour difference the day before then resume as normal the next day!

She went to bed later last night because we were out, so she woke up a little later than usual today and skipped nap (not unusual). She went to bed at her regular time tonight and passed right out. Hopefully this change doesn't screw us up like the fall did - it took us a looooong time to recover from that!

DD woke up at 715 (old 615, which is early for her.) But we had her in bed early last night. She took a solid 2 hour nap, so I thought we were golden. But she's 30 min past her normal fall asleep time and DH is in there, trying to calm her to sleep. This has never happened before, so I'm fully blaming DST. Ugh.

we seem ok so far. We've been adjusting bedtime since Wednesday, but never adjusted back a full hour - more like 30-40 mins. Today she woke up at the "new" 7:00 (she's usually up between 6-7 so it wasn't a total failure lol). Just a short car nap today because we were out, but I think she'll do fine at bedtime. She's usually really good about being flexible for bedtime, it's the early wak up I'm most terrified of! My maternity leave starts tomorrow and I really don't want to be awake at 5:30 haha.

Her sleep has been off this week anyway between recovering from illness and I don't know what else. Unintentionally skipped nap yesterday, went to bed normal time, and both my children slept until the new NINE! even sleeping until 8 would be a big deal. Late nap for the toddler. Then after I brushed her teeth I asked if she wanted to play a little longer, my sleep fighting 2 year old said "no, I just want to go to bed." What??

We were away this weekend and ran the kids ragged! R slept til about 730 today (usual is 630) and we didn't let him nap this morning, just this afternoon-- we are trying to get to 1 nap anyways. Well, he showed us and only napped an hour and 15 mins (car nap). So he went to bed at the new 730 (730-8 is his typical bed time lately). T woke around 7 today I think (the old 6), which is rather early for him. He didn't nap at all and was asleep by the new 830 (his usual bed time is 8). So, it was a weird day, but it seemed to work out fine. The real test is tomorrow morning!

@LovelyPlum: oh no!! I'm sorry G is sick!

Knock on wood... seems okay for us. We decided to do the change over two days. Her usual schedule is up at 8, nap 1:30-3:15, bed at 8. Today we only moved her half an hour so we woke her up at 8:30 and had her nap 2-3:45 and bed at 8:30. I was worried she'd have trouble with nap or bed since it was half an hour "early" but she had no issue! Tomorrow we'll get her up at 8 and resume the usual schedule so hopefully she completes the transition no problem.

I think my son woke up a little later than usual this morning, but we put him to bed at 8:45 the new time (7:45 the old time). He usually goes to bed at 8, so I feel like it would be too much of a shock to try to put him to bed an hour earlier than usual (which is how he would see it). I'm going to gradually move up his bedtime until it gets to the new 8. So tonight he went down at 8:45, tomorrow will be 8:30, then 8:15, etc.

Well they both woke at the new 6:30 which means to them it was 5:30. 30 minutes extra sleep for me! Woohoo! Later nap for dd2. She fell right asleep at 7pm but when I put her down she started screaming. We're still dealing with that now. :/ DD1 crashed at 7 since she no longer naps at home but still does at preschool.
