Sorry that it didn't work out, what a bummer. Obama will always mean a lot to me because I'm biracial and my father is from HI, my mother is from Chicago, and I grew up in Southeast Asia. It was the first time I felt like a politician "looked like me" (even though I'm Asian and not black). I was hoping his library would end up in HI because I'm a lot more likely to visit HI than IL. But I totally understand more people will be able to visit in IL than HI! Granted, in DC we walked a ton in general. You will have to wait outside for 20-30 min. There are a few security checkpoints you have to go through. You only tour a small portion of the WH, so the walking once you're inside isn't bad at all. You are not even allowed to bring a handbag (or diaper bag), so I do think it would be difficult with babies. We didn't find out we got the tour until a week or two before. DH has trouble walking long distances so it might be tough for him. </p>
