We moved K right around 7 weeks. It was a total fluke, but we all slept better! She didn't have any problems and I actually felt a lot safer with her in the crib than the bassinet - I was always checking and moving her if she turned her face to the side.

I don't have any advice. I'm being a complete ostrich with my head in the sand about ever moving 9 week old LO to a crib. We have a crib in the nursery. He is getting way too big for the bassinet. But I've convinced DH to set up the pack and play in place of the bassinet, so I'm putting it off even further :P We live in a one room apartment, though, and had converted our bedroom to a nursery and the living room to a bedroom. I'm going to try and talk DH into switching it back so we have the living room again and then our bedroom with LO room sharing for quite a bit longer. That'll bide me time >_> haha Good luck transitioning - I hope you get a lot of good tips and it goes smoothly for you <3

We transitioned to having her in her own room (though still in her moses basket) from 2.5wks. Honestly, she was such a noisy sleeper we had no choice! She didn't even notice the room had changed and she was alone. It was harder on us than her!!

Could you put towels under the sheet so it feels more confided like the bassinet?

DD has been sleepIng in a bassinet in our room since she was born. She is 8 weeks today and I was hoping to keep her in here atleast 3 months, possibly 4. She sleeps swaddled but has always been able to wriggle around. Usually we would find her with her feet at the bottom when we started her at the top. Well, this morning I got up to find her face first in the side of bassinet. She was trying to find a nipple on the hard plastic. So, now that she can apparently move herself sideways and wind up with her face pressed against the plastic sides, I'm terrified she will do this in her sleep and suffocate. Ugh...

Looks like we are forced to move her to her crib. I don't want to but for her safety I think I need to. Pretty sure this is going to be harder on us than her.We just bought a sound machine last night to help with the eventual transition so she atleast had a familiar noise. I have been doing naps in there this past week and she sleeps like crap during them.

Any suggestions to make this an easy transition? What made you transition?
