@autumn865: I don't know about your lo's temperament in general but my LO does not like being snatched or for things to be done abruptly to her. I would tell her "it's time for a diaper change...let's go upstairs" and have her come to me and then we go upstairs. If she won't come to you then you can gently lead her by the hand and tell her it's time to go change her diaper. My LO loves when her stuffed animals have to do something...like we tell her "it's time to go potty, LO...Bunny it's time to go potty". And she'll have her bunny sit on the potty and then she'll sit on the potty. So maybe tell her and have her bring a "friend" with her and show her that the stuffed animal gets it's diaper changed and say "good job" and then have your LO hold the stuffed animal and then she gets her diaper changed.

Normal.

I would talk quickly, ask questions, distract with toys.

When none of that works, I put her on the floor with one leg over her chest so she can't roll over and I change really quickly.

Normal. It's been that way with us since 12 months old. I have a Sesame Street playlist I play during changes. Basically, entertaining and distracting him helps. I also explain what I'm doing and say that he can't leave the room without a clean diaper and clothes on.

DD is 16 months old and has suddenly decided that she hates hates hates diaper chamges... I dread them! Usually I smell her and snatch her up to get her to the changing table and by the time we are there she's screaming bloody murder. I have to hold her down while she thrashes and kicks around and i try not to let her fall off the table. After we're done I try to hug her or put her down but she wants no part and continues inconsolable for at least another 15 minutes screaming, rolling around and kicking. It's like she's possessed.. Is this normal diaper change behavior? Is this normal tantrum behavior? I seriously don't know how to calm her down and ignoring the behaviors make her escalate.
