@Mrs. High Heels: I'm so glad the fever is gone! I'm with you in that I have this irrational fear of fevers in my LO, and of course my LO is a monster to try and get Tylenol or Advil into, so it makes it even worse. Hoping her fever stays down!

And the onion trick sounds amazing - I am going to have to try that one sometime!

@mrbee: @erwoo: GUYS!!! I think it actually worked!! I could tell within an hour last night that her temp dropped because her skin was no longer burning hot to the touch, and this morning her temp is at 99.8. The onions are kind of brown now, but I wonder if that's just from oxidation.

She's still coughing and moody, but no fever this morning. :)

I used sleep sacks with my oldest and now use it for my 16 month old. With my oldest (now 4) I just need to convince him to wear the socks bc he doesn't like the feeling but reluctantly wore it last time he had a fever. Hope she feels better! Get some rest yourself. :)

@erwoo: LOL! My dad has this belief that onions cure almost everything! When he is sick, he puts bowls of onions everywhere and eats them raw like an apple. blech! It ends up smelling like Carl's Jr., but funny to hear it's a real thing!

@erwoo: I'm a huge believer in alternative healing methods so just did this! DD was furious and it was a battle to get the socks on her, but they're on. She's a strong-willed one so I hope they stay on! How did you get your kids to keep their socks on with onions inside? Haha. Had to google it too, and apparently it does work! http://www.tipking.co.uk/tip/2872.html...

Sorry to hear about this. Try putting sliced onions in a pair of bigger socks that won't fall off of her feet and let her sleep in it. I swear by onions with fevers. I'm 4 for 4 with it with both of my kids. I also use the same onion and leave it sliced in half in a bowl in their room as well. All 4 times both boys woke up the next day with much lower fevers or it's all gone. Most times it's all gone. One time it stayed at 99 but never got any higher after that and then went away. Onions supposedly absorbs the sickness. I hope it's nothing serious! Sound like roseola but definitely monitor and look out for rashes or anything abnormal. And keep the fluids going as well. Hang in there!

@Mrs. High Heels: Awwww.... I sometimes put a couple drops of lavender oil on a cool/tepid washcloth. Lavender oil is a natural fever reducer (even when used for aromatherapy) & it can help maybe relax her? I hate when the littles aren't feeling well. :(

@Mrs Checkers: her fever is back up to 103 today. DH is going to take her to the ped tomorrow, but this could very likely be roseola. She's never had a fever longer than a day, and she is really miserable right now. This is the worst I've seen her.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: @PrincessBaby: @Mrs. Jump Rope: @Rubies: @chopsuey: I will definitely keep an eagle's eye out for any sort of rash that might appear. She still has a fever at 100.2 degrees right now, but I think that's well within the range of normal especially since kids tend to run high in general anyway. Hoping this passes as soon as it came! Glad to hear roseola rashes don't itch because I really don't want to deal with yet another set of problems...

@Mrs. High Heels: I am absolutely not a doctor and you should consult with yours, but when Chloe's fever got to 105.5 & had a febrile seizure, we instantly thought it would hurt her brain! The ER doctor and our pedi reassured us that high fevers and brain damage is a myth... They both said our fevers are wired to "shut down" at a certain temp. I wrote a post about it. It made more sense when it was fresh in my memory! My point is that now, we don't freak out over high fevers-- they're unfortunately pretty common in our house :(

I hope your LO is feeling better really soon!! When c had roseola I think her fever lasted 2-3 days before the rash broke out.

This is exactly what happened to my LO with Roseola. She was fine in the morning, then out of nowhere started fussing and I realized her head was burning up. Took her temp and it was in the 102s. Tylenol brought it down here and there, but it lasted about 3 days and when it broke, she got all cold and sweaty, and she had the most barely-there rash on her trunk. It sucked! I hope your LO feels better asap! My LO just looked miserable and we could tell she didnt feel good, but other than that, the fever was the only symptom.

@Mrs. High Heels: DD has had roseola twice and the most annoying thing about it is that you don't know it's roseola until the rash appears (usually on day three of fever!). Other than fever, there is no other real symptom. It's torture. But once the rash appears, fever is instantly gone and the good (if you can even call it good) thing is that the rash isn't itchy...Just red and splotchy.
