DS was majorly whining for a few weeks (maybe a month?) and then learned some other new stuff and stopped the whining. Whining and tantrums. She is either whining and she doesn't know why because she won't tell me or she is screaming at the top of her lungs because i won't give her (yet another) snack. It's hard not tog I've in but I don't want to teach her tantrums and whining will give her what she wants because I know its bad to encourage the behavior. DH said tonight we're going to have to snack train her (like sleep train) because she won't give in!! I might just have to listen to her scream and ignore her before she finally gets it. </p> <p>I try to take her outside or do something else when she's whining or tantruming, but it really doesn't work that well. She's relentless. I'm right there with you mama. (Or just trying to ensure he remains an only child...) It's just non-stop whining lately. This horrible noise that makes everyone around us cringe, literally. I'm just not sure how to handle it anymore, and it's really getting me down. I don't want him to think whining brings him whatever he wants, but I also don't want everyone around us to have to visibly cringe at the noise he is making. Basically I feel like one big discipline failure right now :sad: Any tips for handling an especially whiny toddler? </p>
