She gets her ear tubes on Tuesday and once we get that over with I will take on the thrush. I almost quit breastfeeding because I felt like thrush was running my life. What finally worked for me was exclusively pumping so that my nipples healed completely, taking a probiotic, giving LO a probiotic, and alternating putting coconut oil and monistat cream on my nipples after each pumping session, shower, and before bed. Before I got that to work I tried: vinegar, nystatin, gentian violet, and diflucan. I took 250mg Grapefruit seed extract 3x/day for about two weeks and it cleared it up. The first time the nipple pain went away after the first two doses. I remember the pharmacist telling me to 'make her swish the medicine around her mouth then gargle'. Ha ha. Yeah okay, I'm sure my 3-month-old will do that just great :happy: Initially we used a violet coloured liquid that stained, then A used nyststin and I had a special cream too. Probiotics are supposed to help.... Luckily we caught it early so it's a mild case. We are both taking lots of probiotics in addition to the medicine.
