I like the look of the flat but not the maintenance. That is one of the main reasons we are repainting the kitchen. Before we bought this place we lived in a 1950's bungalow with the same exact textured walls. I kind of hated them, but they looked much better with richer colors. The darker color pops, so you could keep the accessories white and go for the "spa-like" vibe. Our living areas all connect (kitchen, dining, family and living room) and have textured walls. Sometimes I just pause and pat myself on the back for picking it. We went from gold/brown (original color that came with the house) to a BM yellow beige and finally Pale Oak. </p>
