What had you originally planned to put over the crib? I don't see why you would have to change it up just because it's curved...?

I've seen a lot of nurseries that have the LOs name or initials over the crib. Maybe using those paper mache letters you can get from craft stores? You can DIY the finish on them (paint, decoupage, etc). And if you wanted, could hang them to match the curvature of the crib back.

http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/8-paper-mache-letter-r-186106/

Or if you hung prints: hang 3, with the middle one higher, again to match the curvature of the crib.

We were originally supposed to be getting a flat top crib since that is what we ordered in June. Turns out it is back ordered (found this out today) till the end of October when I am due. Furniture store is sending a curved crib in it's place and if we decide we like it we can keep it or switch to our flat crib when it comes in. I have a really hard time figuring out how to decorate above a curved top crib. Please share your nursery or inspiration pictures!

Here is the crib we are getting for now, maybe forever.
