Thanks all! I woke up and drank a giant ice water and felt some good movements about 20 minutes later. I think I probably miss some when I'm on my feet tending to my son. I'm going to drink some more water and be observant this morning and call around lunch if needed. You guys made me feel way better about calling the next time I'm worried. Thanks!

This happened to me at around the same time. I called my midwife and she said that this often happens as the baby changes into a new position where they just squirm around less. She did listen with the Doppler to ease my fears. Perhaps call just in case, if not to feel better. Movement did pick back up for me after a week or two.

@charlotte: Yes definitely call. My OB told me after 24 weeks I should count kicks every day and if I didnt feel 10 movements in two hours to call asap. I'd especially call since you were already feeling a lot and it decreased. Better safe than sorry in this situation.

I had a similar experience at 28 weeks and went to L&D. Everything was just fine and I felt tons of movement after the nurses gave me ice cold water. We were in and out of the hospital within 45 minutes.
If it were me, I would just go to L&D since your OB won't be able to tell you much over the phone.

I would call! Just for peace of mind. My doctor would, have me come in and monitor me just to be sure....3 weeks is a long time to be in limbo if you are feeling unsure. Good luck!

I think it is probably nothing but I would call if I were you.... from what I remember mine was moving like crazy and never slowed at the end I almost thought an Alien was living inside me and would burst out of my belly at any moment. Good luck and best wishes!

Definitely try cold juice. The baby could have changed positions, but I would call if you're worried!

I would call. I had anterior placentas both pregnancies. Once I felt movement (even though it was later), it was pretty consistent and increased not decreased in frequency. The type of movement did change over time.

If you are at all worried - call your OB. Do they have a after hours nurse line?
What they will likely have you do is have a ice cold glass of juice then lie down on your right side and start counting. Every doctor is different in how many "movements" they want you to feel in a certain time frame. And remember, you're not looking for just kicks. Even a flutter or bubble counts as a "movement".

FWIW I had an anterior placenta with my first and did not feel regular movements till after 24 weeks!

Mine slowed way down at 30 weeks, which is fairly common. I would have been concerned had it happened at 25 weeks - I think a call to your ob/midwife might be in order.

I am 25 weeks pregnant with LO#2..anterior placenta this time around but I was feeling consistent strong movement from 20 weeks until this weekend. Like... strong enough to see and feel on the outside and fairly often.

Since Saturday or Sunday I've barely felt anything. I keep saying I'm going to call if it doesn't pick up and then each night when I get in bed I feel a little twinge...but no more big movement.

I know kick counts don't really start until third try but would you be worried / call about this or chalk it up to a weird position or something? Next appt is in three weeks......
