Still tell your dentist/ assistant about your ttc. We do our best to prevent scatter radiation, but it is still a chance most Dentist don't take if you are pregnant. X-rays can be done while pregnant under certain situations. More Dentist usually won't do them. Unless you are in severe pain and it is an emergency. Digital X-rays are safer. All X-ray machines are designed to produce a very limited amount of radiation. The radiation is used only on the teeth being radiographed. But there is something called scatter radiation. This is why it's safest to just not get the x-rays during pregnancy or if there's a chance you are pregnant. The egg is no more exposed to radiation in your uterus than it is in your ovaries, I don't think. And the odds of the egg being fertilized and negatively affected on the day you're ovulating are pretty slim. I am also scheduled for a dentist appt tomorrow and I know they will do x-rays. I will ask the dentist if it's safe, but just curious if anyone has gone to the dentist in the TWW and had x-rays. Or any dental bees who can weigh in? </p>
