@sarah.clarisse: Totally depends on what you're looking for! There are definitely more walkable, urban-ish neighborhoods, also tons of suburbs with large yards. Keep me updated! I grew up here, moved away for many years, and have enjoyed it with my LOs since I moved back. There are fun things to do with your LO but I feel like at that age, everything will be new and exciting for them so I don't know if its worth seeking out kid-specific activities when there are so many fun things to do that you and DH might get more out of. Since you're staying with friends, they will probably have plenty of ideas!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

@shellio: I might hit you up for more Denver info. We are actually staying with friends but the trip is only 1/2 for fun... We are also scouting for new jobs in the area so we might be relocating later this year or early next! I have no idea what neighborhoods are good for younger families. :)

I second Golden as a fun place to go. There is a fun train museum and if you drive up the mountain, the Buffalo Bill museum is pretty fun and has great views.

@sarah.clarisse: YAY I'm a Denver bee! Wish we were going to be in town because I would say, you should meet up with me!! :) Great suggestions from @MrsKRB: for the restaurants. We looooove checking out breweries and some of our favorites are Copper Kettle, Former Future, River North (all belgians which I wasn't so sure about but ended up loving), Denver Beer Co (big place but it gets super crowded). Downtown Denver has 16th street mall which IMO is a bit cheesy. Other fun areas to walk around are the Highlands (neighborhood just west of downtown, hit Little Man ice cream), Golden (sort-of suburb, college town about 15-20 min west of Denver, cute little downtown and its right at the base of the mountains), South Broadway (long strip of road, gentrifying, lots of antique shops, small bars, cool restaurants). I have more suggestions but need to go now. Where are you staying? What kinds of things do you guys like to do/see?

DH and I went to Denver in March! Definitely go to Euclid Hall and Beast and Bottle for good food and beer. We also went to the 1up - an arcade/bar which was really fun! Also, check out Red Rocks amphitheater - when we went, it was too cold for concerts, but it's soooo beautiful, depending on when you go there should be some good shows there!
