I can't remember how many years I was on it (maybe three or four) but I had absolutely no negative side effects whatsoever. I didn't gain any weight (actually lost weight and I'm thin to begin with), stopped having a period pretty much straightaway, had no PMS symptoms, and really just loved everything about it! I was on it for 3 years I think. Then my dr switched me to the Nuva ring because I was suppose o take calcium supplements if I wanted to stay on depo. </p> <p>If I were to go back to BC, I would think about the Nuva ring or Depo. That's just me.</p> <p>Actually when I got off BC, is when I got really bad PMS. My DH used to have to hide in a bunker if my period was coming.
