DD adores our dog, and our dogs loves and protects DD... Sometimes DD is a little rough with our dog; we do our best to divert that behaviour!
Attaching pics now, because who doesn't love a girl and her puppy dog!?

A bit antagonistic at times. E loves cats but one hides and one sort of taunts her and then gets upset when she's not super gentle

LO (25 months) is bffs with our dog. We've had our dog for 3 months (a 4 year old rottweiler who had previously been abused) Lo feeds him, climbs on him, brushes him and sits on the couch together. Plus if we go out in the car, lo always tries to bring the dog too (and the dog refuses going in the car without lo there)

We have one cat. LO has been fascinated by him ever since she was old enough to really notice him, and currently thinks he's hilarious and likes to chase, head-butt, and "pet" him (when we aren't quick enough at intercepting her). On his side, it's a little more complicated...when we brought LO home, he was so jealous and HATED her to the point where he wouldn't even sit on any surface where she had been. Over the next couple months, he kind of accepted the fact that she wasn't going away and claimed this infant seat pillow thing we have as his own (she never really liked it so we let him have it). Then, she started to crawl and kitty is NOT PLEASED with that. He tolerates her, but just barely. They have ongoing territory battles (he's now claimed her everywhere chair, too, and she likes to play with his scratcher...possession is 9/10 of the law in our house right now). I'm hoping he can make peace with her once she's a little older and gentler. We'll see.

LO loves our dog and chases her, our dog handles it fine...usually runs from her for safety and she thinks it's a game. There is some jealousy if our dog is laying on my lap, se usually says "move Finley, my turn" even though she doesn't need my lap ;)

My LO absolutely adores our cats. The one cat runs away from her unless he is REALLY desperate for attention, and the other one will tolerate anything she does, but will move out of her gated area to get away when he is done being abused. She can be pretty mean to the cats, tail pulling, hair pulling, forceful petting, etc and we are trying to work on that!

Whenever the baby (8mo) notices one of the cats, his face lights up and he starts crawling like a maniac towards him. The more skittish cat runs away long before the baby gets close. The friendlier cat usually waits too long and winds up with the baby grabbing a fistful of fur and squealing with glee. At that point we have to intervene. I try to grab the baby's hand and show him how to pet the cat nicely, and when we manage to do that he gets a huge grin on his face until he uses his other hand to try to grab the cat. Then the cat runs away.

But the friendlier cat always comes into the play area to sit near the baby. He likes to be nearby, but not touching. He also waits outside the baby's door when I am putting the baby to sleep, and he always meows when I emerge and tries to run into the room.

Our more skittish cat always sleeps on my feet. He arrives in the middle of the night, and if he sees that I wake up he comes and cuddles up next to my chest and purrs like crazy. On the rare occasions that I co-sleep with the baby, he also cuddles up next to the baby. This morning he put both paws across the sleeping baby's belly and closed his eyes. It was really cute.

In the long run I think they are going to be really great friends! The cats are only 7 and 5 months older than the baby, so they are babies too!

LO wants to be our pup's bff. Our dog tolerates her well, especially when she feeds him. It's her chore, plus she always manages to share her own food with him. I can't say he loves her though, haha. I'd say he likes her because he has to.

LO loves our dog. Our dog mostly tolerates him, but is always trying to get closer to DH or me than LO is. Basically, our dog was our first baby and he doesn't want us to forget that.

DD loves our cat. She goes between loving him, hugging him, and wanting to pick him up to screaming at him and chasing him. She also likes to scold him, "Cheeto, get out of the dirt RIGHT NOW!" Poor kitty.

LO 1 alternates between being obsessed and terrified of our smallish dog. He is confused with her mixed signals and tends to stay away.

LO 2 loves pestering the dog and he doesn't mind. :P He likes to sleep in her room during naptime!
