I think Deb will end up saying it was in self defense type of thing, and that LaGuerta was off her rocker.</p> <p>How do you all feel about Dexter's dad and his old partner, whose name I can't remember (the older white guy that told LaGuerta to back off). I get the sneaking suspicion that he may know more about Dexter than he lets on, or perhaps Dexter's dad was also a killer. I mean, why else would he teach his son this "code"? I dunno, I just think there's something weird going on there. I also think a lot of Dexter's past is going to come up in the last season, so it would make sense in a way.</p> <p>During this season, I also got the feeling that the show was going to end with Dexter dying, not being arrested. Based on some of the monologues he had with himself, and the realization that it's not just "his dark passenger" and it's part choice too...I feel like he might kill himself. I know that's totally out there, but it's just a guess.</p> <p>Am I rambling? I guess because of blood splatter and stuff like that they didn't want to upset anyone. I was trying to think and I think this is the first mass shooting that took place during the season of Dexter - Aurora, CO was in the summer, before the show started airing again. And would lead straight back to Debra. Even if they're relatively certain of what happened, don't they usually use forensics to confirm it, especially for something like this? The last scene was pretty epic though, of them walking back into the party. I can't imagine how they will clean that up - would it work to just shoot her again with the guy's weapon? Probably not. But I like the turns they've made Dexter and Deb take. </p> <p>My initial thought: Well I guess using your personal police weapon to kill the chief of police sort of renders your brother's original plan moot. Did they have to chop up LaGuerta and feed her to the fishes? </p> <p>What's in store for next season? I think that the sudden disappearance of LaGuerta is going to lead to Dexter's ultimate downfall. Everybody knows she was after him, and as bad as she looked, I don't think they're going to forget that when she drops off the face of the planet. </p>
