Go with a lighter suit... no tie is necessary imo.

Definitely not a suit. At least not a dark one, it just feels too heavy. I like linen blazers if he wants to be more dressed up than just wearing a shirt.

Is it possible to figure out what others may be wearing?? When my husband was in a destination wedding he had to wear a suit, but everyone else wore more casual. For our circle, I doubt any guest would wear a coat , but probably nice pants, short and tie.

I agree that a wedding is a wedding. It does kind of depend on the couples vibe who’s getting married but a lot of time you won’t know that until you’re at the wedding. For example, some couples go super casual and breezy and others are more formal even if it’s a beach wedding. My brothers wedding was in Mexico last year and there were definitely a lot of underdressed and slobby looking men. I would do a lighter grey dress pant with a light coloured shirt and tie for the ceremony. Then remove the tie for the reception. No sandals ugh, and no Hawaiian print shirts. A subtle pattern in the shirt like dots or checks would work if he wants to jazz it up a bit. For the wedding I attended the bride wore a full gown and my brother a full black suit so the more casual khaki type guests looked like they just wandered into the wedding off the beach IMO. All the women dressed appropriately of course!

We went to a wedding in Mexico a few months ago and DH wore light grey dress pants and a button down. There was a pretty big range - from khaki shorts and short sleeve button downs to suits.

A wedding is a wedding in my mind, regardless of where it is, so I would always choose to be a bit overdressed with the option to remove things to make it more casual. As an example, for a guy, I would always have the option of a suit and tie, but instead of being serious about it, I would do something more fun. This way you can always dress it down if needed.

I would look for warm khaki suiting pants at the very least. I think the footwear is going to make or break it, so maybe leather driving loafers? I hate sandals, so that colors my view, and I think a typical oxford style shoe will be too clunky.

Not a grey or black suit and maybe not a suit at all. Linen pants and shirt would probably be the right vibe and are nice and light weight and come in lighter colors. If you don't want to buy anything then khaki's and a light or white dress shirt would work

I would get an inexpensive, light-colored suit--now all the Fall stuff is out so it might not be as easy to find, but Zara has awesome versions of the above for cheap, my husband has a couple--they're not heirlooms but they don't need to be. at the very least I'd get light-colored suiting pants and a white dress shirt which he could roll the sleeves of if it's super cas. Respectfully disagree with the pp, IMO khakis are for the office. Sounds like fun!

Khakis, a white button down, and maybe a tie, maybe not, depending on what the groom is wearing. I would say definitely not a suit for a resort destination wedding.

DH and I are attending a destination marriage celebration in Mexico (the couple eloped and had a baby). The tone seems pretty casual & fun. I have a dress in mind but I don’t know what is expected for the guys. DH mentioned this week that he plans to wear a suit. He has a dark grey suit and a black suit. I was envisioning more casual and lighter in color. DH is not as into fashion as his friends but will want to fit in.

What would you suggest?
