He's a HUGE Cubs fan so I looking through who's available. There's one that might be a little pricey but he donates it to his charity and it would work with FB group of people leaving messages.</p> <p>His birthday is on a Friday so I think we're both going to take the day off. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can do a bike ride or drive to a forest preserve and hike around. There will definitely be take out! And we'll either make a cake or pick one up. It'll be hard to do things on the sly with the boys since we're obviously all in one house and the 4 yo can't keep a secret but we'll do our best. No idea on what to get him. All he says he wants is a tool box. So I did everything I could to make it special. The kids drew cards for him (he's obsessed with homemade birthday cards lol).and I took most of the day off work and made cake and chocolates, and then we went for a walk (which is not an everyday thing for us now :bummed: ) Extra gratitude to the kids for not picking stupid fights with each other for once. </p> <p>It was a surprisingly happy birthday - I've never realized how much stress we've added in past years by trying to celebrate. We were supposed to do a family trip to Hawaii which of course got cancelled. I ordered a bunch of luau decorations from Oriental Trading Company and I’m going to decorate the house. I am also making him a Kudoboard. It’s an online platform where different people can contribute messages and pictures. It’s super easy to use and it’s free for 10 messages and under and a minimal price (like under $10) to have up to 100 messages. The girls and I are going to bake him a cake and as a present I ordered him a puzzle made from one of our vacation pix last year. We will probably also get take out from somewhere yummy. That’s it! It sucks. Luckily I have some awesome friends, so they helped out quite a bit. We woke up to our yard having been "flocked"- 40 pink flamingos in the yard, all with notes around their necks from our friends. One friend had ordered the flamingos and had our other friends email notes to her, and then she wrote them out and put them around the necks of the flamingos. We had friends do a drive by of our house, and still others that came over and sat 15 feet away- we were in our yard, they were in our parking strip. We had beers together. Overall, it was an incredible birthday!</p> <p>Could you have friends make a FlipGrid of notes for him? We had planned on going on a trip to celebrate but that's obviously off the table right now. I'm trying to brainstorm ideas on how to make his birthday special since it's such a momentous one. </p> <p>He is not the kind of guy that would like a parade of people driving by the house so that is out. He also wouldn't like a big sign in the yard. One of my friend's husband created a FB page and asked all of her friends to add a video toasting her. He added her to the group the morning on her birthday. The majority of his good friends and family don't live near so I thought this was a good idea to steal. Otherwise, depending on whether any restrictions were lifted, I was thinking of inviting some of our friends over (probably the guys) and setting up a social distancing hang out in our drive way around our fire pit at night.</p> <p>Any other ideas? I want it to be something more than just us ordering take out, which is what we do every other Friday night. </p>
