@bhbee: AAHHHH!!! thank you! This actually looks like what it might be! And we did you hydrocortisone on the rash.

We will still go to the dermatologist. But I wanted to get ideas so I could keep from spreading it or making it worse.

Thanks again

@Twolittlemen: my other guess is perioral dermatitis - especially if any steroid creams were used (hydrocortisone, etc). It can definitely come and go in how bad it looks. When my son had it persistently pedi gave us erythromycin gel which worked but wasn’t fun (he thought it stung and it takes a long time to work).

@cyoung: @bhbee: SO, Some backstory. About 6 weeks ago he had an awful allergic reaction rash all over his face. The pediatrician said it would just have to pass. (Were not sure what caused it but the only suspect I have is he accidentally ingested a red dye powder.) These popped up almost as soon as the reaction passed.

My other son had Molluscum last summer and these bumps don’t look like those, but they DO have a rough, warty texture. I have made him a dermatologist appt but she can’t see us til August.

Always there like it’s been there a long while? If so I wonder about molluscum? It’s super hard to tell in the pic (and it can present in multiple ways anyway) but I always bring it up because it’s so common but rarely talked about.

@Twolittlemen: maybe hand foot and mouth. Idk I'd ask your doctor just in case.

What does this rash look like to you? It is always there but sometimes is red and sometimes not. Child is 7 so it’s not teething. Any ideas?
