It never worked to pin down E because she will fight me and won't let up, so I never tried it long. What works for us is distraction. I give her something she's not supposed to have and it only works once or twice. I can't give her the same thing over and over. </p> <p>Pearls and other jewelry, closed vitamin bottles, a little clock, figurines, and when all else fails, wipes work for us. I also have to wait until she's a little calmer before I change her. I think it lasted about a month or so for us, and now it is much better. If she is at all cranky she still fights it, but she generally cooperates at 13.5 months. Its a "special" toy given only during diaper change time. HATED. having his diaper changed or having clothes put on. He doesn't cry AT ALL now, and gives me big huge grins instead. The second I stop singing the wailing continues. Seriously, I am gonna need some more songs. I know it's so common that the LOs just do not enjoy diaper changes, so many things to see, places to go! But it has just gotten increasingly worse and worse. </p> <p>K is VERY strong and strong-willed. Will flip over in a second, has no qualms about going head-first over any edges. If I change her on the ground she'll flip and be off and crawling away in a nano-second. "Pinning" her down as has been suggested, leads to full on banshee screams (not so pretty in public restrooms). I swear people think I am torturing her. </p> <p>Someone please tell me when this phase ends? </p>
