Make sure you have the maximum strength desitin (purple) and if it gets worse, go see doc. We battled diaper rash a month ago and one day it just got so much worse...it happened fast. It was yeast and cleared quickly with meds.

@Foodnerd81: I agree with triple paste. It's all we use and M has never had a diaper rash. As soon as I see any red or irritation I rub it on and it's clear by the next day. You can get it anywhere--grocery store, CVS, etc. And I don't think it smells bad!

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, it doesn't smell bad... kind of nice and non-offensive. They sell it at drugstores here in the baby section. http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Paste-Medicated-Ointment-16-Ounce/dp/B000GCL2B8 ... Desitin brings me back to my childhood! That's what my mom used. I can conjure that smell in my brain!

@Beehive: and you can get triple paste wherever, not a prescription? Does it smell better than desitin? This stuff stinks!

@Bookish: makes me feel better that it's not just her. I woke up on Tuesday feeling like crap- like holy sht am I pregnant? nausea! So maybe we both just have a touch of a bug.

Aww, no experience with this but I hope she is back to normal soon! Just wanted to say we really like triple paste, in case you haven't tried it yet. It always gets LO's rashes cleared up very quickly.

@Foodnerd81: Yep, we just went through this! She started with diarrhea last Wednesday and was sent home from daycare, and it um, firmed up by Friday afternoon but then she was having multiple (like 8+) poops a day, which is very unlike her normal 1-2. They were definitely green and looser than normal, and it stopped on....Xmas eve? So Tuesday. It took almost a week, poor thing.

She also had zero other symptoms. No fever, nothing. Other than, of course, her poor butt! She also had some raw spots, and they are finally clearing up. We slathered on the diaper paste at every change, and gave her some diaper free time after her bath.

Hope C feels better soon!!

For the past several days C has been pooping way more than usual- six or more explosive times a day, vs her usual 3 or so, and they have been really green, not terribly watery. I know green can be normal, but I've never seen that for so many days in a row. Normal for her his yellow or brown and more watery.

On top of that, she's got such bad diaper rash. It's so red and you can see little raw spots. We have been using butt paste, but just got some desitin and used it the last couple of changes.

I'm not eating much differently but we are traveling. We are using a different brand of wipes which I'm thinking might be part if the problem.

Any similar experiences? I can't help but think the green poop and extra rash are related. Also how can you tell between regular diaper rash and a yeast one?

And yeah, this is a gross post. :)
