I would. My doctor always checks at every visit anyway.

@Adira: Lotrimin works if the rash is caused by yeast so definitely wait for your doctor to check it out. Hubs just called me from taking our LO to the pedi and she does have a yeast infection so Lotrimin AF is what the doc told him to go buy. Good Luck!

i was thinking that you could put the cream on, and then when you get there they could wipe off the cream with a diaper wipe for a better look.

poor little guy! hope it gets better soon.

@cmomma17: I actually saw another post be a Bee about Lotrimin and was going to try it, but when I went to buy it, it said to use on children under 2 or something like that, so I felt wary about just doing it on my own! I kind of hope my pediatrician suggests it, because then I'll feel okay using it!!

@autumnlove: Okay, that's what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure. Poor guy's diaper rash is looking pretty gnarly these days. :(

I don't have an answer to your question.

BUT I did want to tell you that my pediatrician recommended Lotrimin at our two month check up. I cleared up any redness immediately! So strange (I thought) since it is not diaper cream per se and is not found in the baby aisle. I think it's main use is for athlete's foot!
Our LO has very little diaper rash usually though. Hope Xander's clears up soon!

So Xander's got a serious case of diaper rash and we're going to the pediatrician today for his 4-month well visit. I want to have her take a look at it and maybe she can give me some more tips on how to help clear it up. So... should I forgo the diaper rash cream before we go to the pediatrician so that she can get a really good look at it?
