Out. We found we were having blowouts after being in the carseat or carrier - I think the straps/base compress the diaper some? So if you're having blowouts after those times, it's worth reaching in there and spreading the diaper back out when you reach your destination!

I would switch to Pampers Swaddlers. Huggies always leaked around the legs for LO, who was a skinny baby.

Ruffles out here!
We found that Pampers Swaddlers fit our skinny baby well, and Huggies fit our chunky baby. Might be a brand issue instead of a size issue!

Out! We use Pampers swaddlers which usually seem to do the trick. B will still have blowouts in the legs at day care though. I think it's mainly because he's in an exersaucer there when he poops and that just happens. He also has little chicken legs!

Definitely out!

For what it's worth, we were gifted a package of Huggies and DD had blowouts like crazy in them. After we used them up and went back to Pampers, blowouts were immediately minimized. Some brands just don't work for some kids!

@littlebug: I have always used pampers swaddlers when they are teeny and rarely have issues with leg leaking. They are a little more expensive but maybe worth a shot to see if it helps with the skinny legs?

@littlebug: yeah it totally annoying. Even at 11 months I still occasionally have issues with it (especially if she is in her car seat with her legs flexed up). She has skinny legs and that just causes fit problems!!

@littlebug: where is she blowing out from? I kept getting told I needed to go up a size, but she was leaking from the leg openings, not up the back or front. Going up a size made things a million times worse. I had to trial and error some brands before I found something that fit her legs well.

@Foodnerd81: @SweetiePie: Yeah, I thought size might be the issue, so I moved her up from nb to size 1, which seem HUGE on her. And still leaking.

@pastemoo: We CDd with D, and I plan to start with A soon, but the elastic and velcro needs to be replaced in most of them. Plus, our daycare only does sposies, so I still need to figure out the right fit. :bummed:

The back I used to fold down but the legs--that was part of the reason DH was so into cloth. Bye bye blowouts.

They also make diaper cover thingies for disposable diapers.

Out! I was told by my ped, my infant prep class and my PP doula.

Also, frequent blowouts usually indicates you need to size up. Don't pay much attention to the size guidelines on the box. We've consistently done a size higher than the box says and I can count on my hands how many blowouts we've had in 18 months.

I've read both, and can't decide what works better. A's been blowing out, no matter how I set the ruffles. I'm thinking we need a different brand (currently using Huggies little snugglers). But just out of curiosity, how do you set the ruffles?
